On a recent shoot, I was particularly taken with the beauty look created for Joanna. It's that perfect, slightly smokey, black eyeliner that you wish you could do yourself at home. And, the good news is, you can! All it takes a steady hand (practice makes perfect) and the right products to pull this look together. Keep the rest of your makeup natural, and let your eyes be the star of show. Here, makeup artist Kristin Brett shares her tips for acheiving the perfect eye from day to night...
If you love a good liner, there are couple of different ways to wear it. Using eyeliner as a foundation for your whole look makes it super quick to transform your soft day time liner to a more dramatic night time look. For the day version, I have used Nars eye shadow in “Coconut Grove” applied with a Mac angled brush. Just draw a line really close to your lash line and gently flick it out.
For a more dramatic night time look I have used Pat McGrath 005 Dual-ended Marker to add intensity. Jet black, and super easy to use because of its Dual ended tips.
