My Five Minute Beauty Look: Summer Edition

I'm a big collector of beauty products, I love trying out the latest formulations and anything with beautiful packaging feels right at home on my top shelf. That being said, when it comes to my own routine, I like to keep things pretty simple. Unless I'm getting ready for a special event, I like to try and keep my routine to 5 minutes. It works well for me when I am rushing (which is most days!) and keeping things light means I don't usually have to reapply during the day. Wins all round!

This is the look I have been frequenting for the last few weeks of summer, it's all about a natural glow that still lets your skin shine through, and just a touch of colour on the lip.

Step One
The key to a smooth application is a good base, so I start by mixing a drop or two of oil into my moisturiser. It hydrates the skin and makes for a great primer. My current favourites are Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream and Dermalogica Phyto Replenish Oil.

Step Two
I tend to alternate between tinted moisturiser and foundation, and on the weekends I skip in favour of letting my skin breathe. I'm pretty fussy when it comes to the perfect base, but recently I was introduced to Giorgio Armani Power Fabric. It gives a nice finish (matte but not dry) and has a velvet-like application. I also love how it feels so light but gives quite good coverage. I apply one light layer on my face, followed by a touch of RMS Un-Cover Up Concealer where needed.

Step Three
Using my finger, I blend a touch of RMS Lip2Cheek in Promise into the apples of my cheek, sweeping up towards the cheekbone. I then apply a sweep of Bobbi Brown Shimmerbrick in Bronze along my cheekbone (using the bottom colours of the palette) and a light sweep on my brow bone just above the eyes (using the top two colours). I also love to use RMS Living Luminizer to quickly brighten up my complexion, I use a little bit on my finger to highlight the top of my cheekbones, the bridge of my nose, inner corner of my eyes and cupid's bow.

Step Four
The final finishing touches... I brush up my brows, apply a light coat of MAC In Extreme Dimension 3D Mascara and add some colour to my lips with Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution in Sexy Sienna.
