The Five Piece Challenge

I've mentioned the 5 piece challenge on the blog before, inspired by the classic French wardrobe, the aim to is to carefully edit a selection of only 5 pieces each season.
Shoes count, but not basics or accessories as long as they stay in budget.

I've never actually set myself on the task (hello sneaky Asos purchases and birthday shoes), but for this Autumn/Winter season while our kitchen is being renovated and I'm saving for two trips away, it seems like the perfect time to start.

This is a little look at what my current wishlist looks like...

The winter coat
I've been looking for a cashmere-wool blend winter coat for a while now, this style by Raey is the perfect style and length, and I love navy.

The wrap skirt
I'm feeling pretty happy that uniform-dressing is sort of trending at the moment. Give me military details and wrap everything any day of the week. This Barbara Bui skirt is sadly out of budget but I'm hoping to find something similar in my price range.

The cashmere knit
I have a J Crew cashmere v-neck that I adore, but for this winter I'm looking for something with a higher neck and a looser fit. This style by Sass & Bide is the current favourite.

The black pump
I have a great pair of Zara pumps from a few years ago that are now sadly in need of replacing. These Saint Laurent's have been on my radar for a while,
the perfect soft point and heel height.

The investment bag
I have faithfully carried a Celine trio for the past three years, but I feel like it's time for a new bag to enter the mix. I'm thinking classic black with gold hardware. I have had two Saint Laurent styles on my mind for a while, but this Chloe bag now has me second guessing.
